Over the past 15 years we have completed several house and garden restorations, in Lancashire and Manchester. Cedarwood, Cheshire, is the biggest project to date.
As you will see from the photos we favour the use of reclaimed materials; nearly all the Cheshire red sandstone was dug out of the site during excavations; amusing to consider it originally came 200 years ago from the stone quarry a mile away.
Appleton Hall Gardens is a private estate and not open to the public.

We are usually busy with our own projects but do sometimes find time to provide consultancy in areas such as garden Design, house extensions, landscaping, planning applications. Using up to date computer aided design we can produce layouts, plans, or rough designs.

We are living in the old walled garden of Appleton Hall and for the past couple of years we have been extending the main buildings and landscaping the large garden area. Doing most of the work ourselves in spare time means it takes
longer, but the compensation is that when it is cold or wet we can remain indoors. Fortunately computer aided design is a part of our consultancy work, and does not require dry weather.

We enjoy browsing reclamation yards locally and online, and have a good idea of how to incorporate old materials in new designs. Picture shows an empty corner of a garden transformed with a wall built from old stones, reclaimed slates, and logs from tree trimming. Planting is at an early stage.
